Mary Baker Eddy is the discoverer and founder of Christian Science.

A very serious Bible student all of her life, she searched the Scriptures until in 1866 she discovered Christian Science which she defined as "...the law of good, the law of God, interpreting and demonstrating the divine Principle and rule of universal harmony."  By 1875 she published her work calling it Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures

Eddy spent her life following Christ Jesus' way of healing and teaching. We have several of her biographies for sale or for borrowing in our reading room library.

Mary Baker Eddy founded The First Church of Christ, Scientist in Boston, Massachusetts in 1888.  This church has members in many countries as well as branch churches and societies.  Eddy also started the publication of the Christian Science Journal, the Herald of Christian Science in languages other than English, and the Christian Science Sentinel magazine.  Articles from these magazines can be accessed online at JHS- online.com.  Subscriptions for the print editions are also available by calling: 1-888-424-2535.

In 1910 Eddy started publication of a newspaper - The Christian Science Monitor.  It is  available in print or online at csmonitor.com. All of these publications can be bought locally from our Reading Room. The Reading Room is open from 10 -1 on Wednesdays and Fridays.
